Symptoms:
After the dashboard installation a dialogue box message appears, that indicates that his screen resolution is too low. There is a slight difference between Online and Offline installations.
“Compatibility Check - Our compatibility test indicates that: Your screen resolution is lower than 1024*768 pixels and High Color (16 bit). Before using the MI-Live Dashboard, please change your resolution to 1024*768 pixels and High Color (16 bit) or higher.”
Cause of the Problem:
The current screen settings are incompatible, but the screen card is compatible! Though the screen itself may not support our requirements.
Solution:
Try to change settings to 1024*768, and high color 16 bit:
- Open control panel:
- Windows XP: Click on the “Start” button on the bottom-left hand corner on your screen and click on “Control Panel”
- On other Operating Systems:
Click on the “Start” button on the bottom-left hand corner on your screen and move your mouse up to “Settings”, now click on "Control Panel"
- Reach the display settings:

In the "Control Panel" window, double-click on the "Display" icon. A "Display Properties" window will open, Select the "Settings" tab. - Windows XP:
- Adjust the screen resolution: Check the resolution in the "Screen resolution" on the left hand side of the window. If your current setting is lower than 1024x768, move the slider to the right until it reaches the desired settings.
- Adjust the color depth: Check the color palette in the "Colors" section on the right hand side of the window. Choose "High Color (16 bit)" from the drop-down list.
- For other operating systems:
- Adjust the screen area: Check the resolution in the "Screen Area" on the right hand side of the window. If your current setting is lower than 1024x768, move the slider to the right until it reaches the desired settings.
- Adjust the color depth: Check the color palette in the "Colors" section on the left hand side of the window. Choose "High Color (16 bit)" from the drop-down list.
- IMPORTANT IN CASE THAT ACCEPTING THE CHANGES REQUIRE BOOTING THE COMPUTER, DO NOT AGREE TO REBOOT! If your monitor does not support the new resolution, booting your computer may result in a flickering screen! Press cancel. We apologize but you will not be able to attend the session.
- To accept the changes: Click the “OK” button, now a warning message pops-up saying it's about to change the Display Properties temporarily. On the pop-up window click the “OK” button to accept the changes.

- AT THIS POINT THE SETTINGS ARE CHANGED ONLY FOR 15 SECONDS, DURING WHICH YOU NEED TO ACCEPT THE NEW SETTINGS, IF YOU FAILS TO DO SO DURING THIS TIME, YOUR OLD SETTINGS WILL RETURN!
- Are you able to see clearly?
- If you are unable to see anything now, just wait for the 15 seconds to expire, your screen is incompatible.
- If you are able to see clearly click the "Yes" button in the message window that has popped up which asks if you want to “keep the new Display Properties permanently?”
- Check again:
- If you have a "CONTINUE" option (ONLINE installation): Click on the "CONTINUE" button in the bottom right hand side to re-test your screen resolution.
- If you don't have a "CONTINUE" option (OFFLINE installation): Click on the "CLOSE" button in the bottom right hand side, and click the invitation URL again
If the card/screen is incompatible: It seems your screen is incompatible and does not suit our system requirements, so unfortunately you will not be able to attend this session.
